Engaging, suspenseful and full of action

3.5 Stars. I really enjoyed this one. Veronica and Jasper were fun characters and the suspense was really well done. Their were quite a few twists and turns and I didn't figure out the villain until pretty close to the end which is always a plus. I loved Gunner and Sydney as secondary characters and I'm looking forward to reading their book.

I Love This series

This is another great series by Cynthia Eden. I really enjoyed this book and especially the main characters: Veronica and Shadow Agent Jasper.
I liked how the author made everyone think Veronica was fragile and docile. She was made of steel and spoke up when she needed. She and Jasper was a perfect pair. Veronica's brother Cale made things very interesting. I like how he prepared his sister to take care of herself in any situation she may find herself in. She called them "Cale's Rules". There were some questionable actions on Veroinca's part that could have easlily crossed over to TSTL but thankfully she pulled back before it was too late.
I liked how the story started. You did not know who the villain was and you constantly questioned the innocence of Veronica's brother. Towards the middle of the book I was able to guess who the villain was but it did not ruin the book for me.
This book is laced with Cynthia Eden's writing style that I have come to love. It comes through on all of the pages. She definitely has me reaching for the next installment of this series. I want to know about two characteres that appears in the the first book as well as, this one, Gunner and Sydney. I also want to learn more about Veronica's brother Cale.

Love the Shadow Agents

I liked Jasper a lot in the first Shadow Agents book, Alpha One. Jasper is irreverent and wild, always one step further out than he should be. Oh, I love a good bad boy! Veronica needs Jasper to help her find her brother, Cade, an ex-Ranger and a friend of Jasper's. He agrees to help her, not letting on that his team is already on the hunt for Cade. Seems someone has been killing off EOD agents, and Cade is at the top of the suspect list.
What worked for me - Jasper - a rule breaking, hard living, fist fighting adreneline junkie who gets stopped dead in his tracks by a good girl computer nerd who stutters when she is nervous. Watching Jasper fall hard and fall fast is the most fun I have had in a while. He feels unexpectedly guilty for not being straightforward with Veronica. Jasper is between the rock and a hard place for a lot of the book.
Veronica - a mild mannered computer programmer, she finds herself in the midst of a no holds barred race to find out who has been picking off EOD agents. Convinced it is not her brother, Veronica does everything she can to prove Cade's innocence. Add in her years long attraction to Jasper, who is suddenly responding in a big way, and there is a lot going on in Veronica's previously tame world.
Veronica and Jasper together -Magnetic. Their attraction to each other was so hawt...I expected my Kindle to start smoking at any second!
Gunner and Sydney - Oh, I cannot WAIT! for their book.
Lots of action here. The pace of the book is frenetic. Never a dull moment. This is a true page turner, and I finished it in one sitting.
I love the way Ms. Eden layers her characters. No cookie cutter stereotypes, ever. We see their motivations, and their struggles. I love the fact that her characters have flaws and make mistakes. Perfection is completely overrated, in my opinion.
Bottom line - Time and money very well spent.
