The editor, James Retallack, is Professor of History and Chair of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Toronto, Canada. His other publications include Germany in the Age of Kaiser Wilhelm II (Basingstoke and New York, 1996); Elections, Mass Politics, and Social Change in Modern Germany: New Perspectives, ed. with Larry Eugene Jones (Cambridge and New York, 1994); and Notables of the Right: The Conservative Party and Political Mobilization in Germany, 1876-1918 (London and Boston, 1988).
